Queer Text at Dixon Place presents Bradford Nordeen of Dirty Looks introducing an evening with Gary Indiana who will screen the video based on his teleplay, A Coupla White Faggots Sitting Around Talking, a hilarious indictment of bourgeois life in 1980 New York City starring Indiana, Jackie Curtis, Cookie Mueller and Taylor Mead.

The teleplay for the video is reproduced in full in Indiana's recent book, Last Seen Entering the Biltmore: Plays, Short Fiction, Poems 1975 - 2010, on Semiotext(e).

Hailed by The Guardian as "one of the most important chroniclers of the modern psyche," Gary Indiana is the author of a darkly satirical trilogy set in Southern California during the late 1990s: ResentmentDepraved Indifference and Three Month Fever: The Andrew Cunanan Story. His 2008 novel Shanghai Gesture was praised by Bookforum as "structured delirium . . . an aesthete's hallucinatory folktale." He is also the author of two collections of essays, Utopia's Debris and Let It Bleed. Indiana teaches philosophy and literature at the New School in New York City.

Dirty Looks is a roaming screening series, a salon of influences, an open platform for inquiry, discussion and debate. Occurring the last Wednesday of every month, Dirty Looks is programmed by Bradford Nordeen
